Ban Jam ft Ezra Bang & The Hot Machine 28.October.2010

Ezra Bang & The Hot Machine (E.B.H.M) Return to the UK to grace the BAN*JAM stage with their new release on German label ltd “THE NEW YORK EP”. Once confined to the fashion ghettos of East London, 2009 saw Ezra Bang & Hot Machine transform into one of the most unlikely of festival crowd pleasers. Storming the stages at Glastonbury, T In The Park, The Great Escape, Sound City Dubai, Afro-Punk in NYC, Splash!, and even their first ever mainstage appearance at Standon Calling, E.B.H.M finished the year with a triumphant French debut at Les Transmusicales Festival in Rennes. Championed by BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson, and naming Artrocker, Attitude, ‘Sup, and even Guardian Online’s New Band Of The Day amongst their supporters, their second single “White Power” debuted on Rob Da Bank’s Radio 1 show as well as featuring on NME Radio. So now E.B.H.M is back & starting with us. Recorded in London and Berlin, the EP features three stunners, and finds the band at their most melodic and groove driven. Fans and press alike to adourn the Ban Jam Gallery at Proud. www.myspace.com/wearehotmachine

Supporting our epic headline will be the band Wild Party, What do you get when you take five gangly kids from the middle of Texas, give them a laptop and some beat up guitars, and tell them to make a record? Well, a party of course. Wild Party could easily be the love child of The Killers and The Strokes. However, upon closer listen, sounds like the band have taken the best parts of the sixties, seventies and eighties, put them in a blender, then shook with a few shots of vodka. Imagine The Rolling Stones, The Talking Heads and Flock of Seagulls got locked into a studio for a week with nothing but their instruments, a disco ball and a healthy supply of grain alcohol. Wild Party's debut single, Life's Too Short, is a catchy blend of pop melodies prancing atop dance rhythms and lushly backed by swirling B3s, tube-driven guitars and samples that could have been pulled from Mac or been looped off an AM radio. The band is set to tour the UK in support of their single in the fall with Liverpool natives The Wombats. www.myspace.com/wearewildparty
